PROGRESSIONS
At the start of Project 2, I reviewed all the requirements:
-
Create a short animation pitch bible
-
Base it on my Project 1 story
-
Include cover page, logline, synopsis, theme, characters and world description
-
Present it using an A4 landscape slide format
-
Prepare an 8-minute presentation video
I planned the structure of my slides and decided on a soft, glowing visual style to match the emotional tone of The Star Who Stayed.
I also selected the necessary images and references:
-
Soft forest backgrounds
-
Character style inspirations
-
Glow effects
-
Day vs night visual contrast
Once the plan was complete, I started writing each part of the pitch bible according to the assignment requirements:
Cover page
-
Logline
-
Product specifications
-
Synopsis
-
Theme
-
Character descriptions
-
World description
After finishing the writing part, I moved on to designing the visual style.I used Procreate to draw the character images and forest backgrounds.
This included:
-
Designing Fira with soft glow, cracks, and round star shape
-
Designing Lumo as a simple, cute ladybird
-
Drawing the forest environment in day
Drawing the forest environment in night
After completing all slides, I reviewed them and made final adjustments to improve clarity, layout, and storytelling flow. I checked that every requirement was fulfilled.
and here was the final pitch bible pdf
Next, I prepared a simple presentation script to help me speak clearly during the recording. I practiced reading the script a few times so my voice would sound natural and confident.
I then recorded my presentation with my camera on, following the slides. After recording, I uploaded the video to YouTube as unlisted.
and here was the final presentation video.
REFLECTION
Through Project 2, I learned how to turn my story idea from Project 1 into a complete pitch bible. I gained experience in organizing a presentation, writing clearly for a young audience, and creating visual designs that match the tone of the animation. Drawing the characters and backgrounds in Procreate helped me understand how visual style supports storytelling.
I also learned how important it is to refine ideas, simplify information, and communicate the concept in a professional way. The recording process helped me practice confidence and clarity while presenting. Overall, this project improved my skills in storytelling, visual development, and presentation, and I feel more prepared for future animation tasks.
