LECTURER

This lecture focused on mastering Adjustment Layers and Filters in Photoshop, essential tools for enhancing and transforming images while maintaining non-destructive editing workflows.

Key Concepts Covered:

  1. Adjustment Layers:
Adjustment layers allow for dynamic edits to color, brightness, and tone without permanently altering the original image. These layers offer flexibility and can be easily modified or removed, preserving the integrity of the original pixels.

    Core Types of Adjustment Layers:

    • Brightness/Contrast: Enhances the overall highlights and shadows to improve clarity or mood.
    • Levels: Provides control over tonal values, allowing users to adjust shadows, midtones, and highlights individually.
    • Curves: Offers precise control for adjusting tonal ranges by manipulating points on a curve graph.
    • Exposure: Fine-tunes highlights, midtones, and darker tones to correct or enhance image lighting.
    • Selective Color: Adjusts the intensity and hue of specific primary colors, enabling detailed color grading.
  2. Filters:
Filters are transformative tools that apply effects such as color adjustments, blurs, and distortions to images. They are widely used for both corrective edits and creative enhancements. Examples include adding motion blur, sharpening details, or creating artistic effects.

WEEK 3 - PEN TOOL EXERCISE (BEST COMPOSITION)

WEEK 4 (ADJUSTMENT LAYERS & FILTERS)

DESCRIPTION:

To adjust filters and layers in Photoshop, I selected the target layer and applied a "Darken" filter to create a deeper, moodier effect. I fine-tuned the contrast and saturation to maintain balance while enhancing the dark tones. Through this process, I learned how to control lighting and depth in my designs, adding more drama and focus to specific areas. This experience has improved my ability to create visually dynamic and professional images
